Greece recorded 157 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
The total number of cases in Greece stands at 10,134 of which 55.5% were men.
2,078 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 4,448 are related to an already known case.
Thirty-five individuals are in the ICU, and their median age is 69 years. 28.6% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 and above.
The country’s pandemic death toll stands at 262. The median age of all was 77 years and 93.5% of the deceased had an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 and above.
Meanwhile police carried out 58,466 checks to prevent the spread of coronavirus throughout Greece on Saturday.
Police reported 330 violations for failure to use a mask and observe the social distancing measures. The offenders were fined €150. Since the start of August, police have recorded a total of 10,515 such violations, imposing 10,506 fines of €150 and nine for €300.
Furthermore, there were 23 violations regarding the rules on the operation of shops and private businesses- three that had an excessive number of customers and whose operation was suspended, six operating after midnight which were fined €10,000 and required to close for three days, and five instances where travellers failed to complete the Passenger Locator Form.
