Enterprise Greece & eBay join forces to promote Greek products

Enterprise Greece and eBay announced a cooperation to enhance Greek enterprises through strengthening the digital transformation and their global promotion.

This is a specially programme that will promote Greek enterprises to 190 markets around the globe through eBay’s successful platform.

According to the announcement, the dynamic of these two partners, combined with their experience, will create an integrated, supportive educational programme that will offer guidance on how to become successful salesman in eBay.

“eBay has grown into something more than just a marketplace. It has become an important export tool and tool of extroversion for businesses. Greece, a country with a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises, is a top priority for us. It is worth noting that in 2019 alone, 12,000 Greek companies exported over one million Greek products. Given this, we are looking for opportunities to invest and develop our partnerships in Greece. It is our great honour to work with Enterprise Greece, with whom we share the same vision, which is nothing more than," said Ilya Kretov. General Manager, Global Emerging Markets at eBay.

Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and Board Member of Enterprise Greece, said: "Greek companies have managed to innovate and differentiate themselves, both in terms of product and branding. In the last ten years, Greek companies have achieved a significant market share abroad, featuring traditional Greek ingredients and innovative marketing. During the pandemic, Enterprise Greece underwent a substantial digital transformation to support the local business community in maintaining its international presence."

In this context, a Greek e-pavillion (Greek Corner) will be designed to promote Greek products to eBay’s consumers, offering business growth, expanded sales limit and a special participation page in Greek language.

"In this regard, we are particularly pleased to announce today the start of our partnership with eBay, thus enhancing the company's digital extroversion in order to help Greek companies reach even more consumers and markets, to increase our export footprint," Alexandropoulou added.
