Attica is in for a scorcher, as the week’s highs are expected to be up to 8 degrees higher than the average temperature (31°C-36°C) for this time of year.
Thessaly, Viotia and the eastern Peloponnese will hit 39°C-40°C.
The islands of the eastern Aegean, southern Crete and parts of Central Macedonia will see highs of 36°C-37°C.
Public health officials advise the elderly and those with babies to stay indoors during the day and to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
