The Civil Aviation Administration of China announced it will resume direct flights to Beijing from eight countries including Greece, Thailand, Cambodia, Denmark, Sweden and Canada from Thursday.
But travellers would be subject to centralised quarantine on arrival for 14 days and have to take two Covid-19 tests, Xu Hejian, director of the Beijing Information Office said.
In March, Chinese authorities ordered all international flights to Beijing to land at other airports as their first port of entry, as the capital stepped up measures to battle with imported cases.
They said it would reimpose restrictions again if more than three passengers test positive for the novel virus upon arrival and that precautionary measures on these flights will be strictly controlled.
