Large yellow ribbon lit up on the Hellenic Parliament raises childhood cancer awareness

In support of September as International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the yellow ribbon was illuminated on the iconic Hellenic Parliament on Thursday night.

The yellow ribbon is the international symbol of the fight against childhood cancer.

From the most well-known national monuments to the parks of the smallest towns, by 'lighting up gold', the world comes together to show these children and their families that they are not alone.

The initiative was organised by 'Karkinaki – Information on Cancer in Children and Adolescents' in collaboration with 'WinCancer.'

In Greece, more than 350 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every year. Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 2 minutes (more than 300,000 annually).
