Crews from the Municipality of Athens’ sanitation department using large sweepers and street washing machines, cleaned and washed the streets in Kato Patissia on Sunday.
It is recalled that similar cleanups have occurred in recent months in Kolonaki, Exarchia, Metaxourgeio, Votanikos, Probonas, Petralona and Plaka.
The operation was carried out early on Sunday morning in Kato Patissia, where on weekdays the roads are very busy.
According to an announcement by the Municipality of Athens, the daily, mass washes and disinfections have been intensified even more in the effort to improve the quality of life of the citizens. At the same time the disinfection has become a valuable weapon against the coronavirus pandemic.
“Cleaning Sundays, together with the daily operations throughout the city, change not only the image of Athens but also the data of everyday life in every neighbourhood. This is our goal and that is why we will not stop being with all our forces, every day, in the streets, squares and public spaces,” said Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis.
