French Film ‘On sourit pour la photo’ finishes filming in Greece

French movie production 'On sourit pour la photo' has finished filming in Greece ahead of its release in 2021.

“I am happy that such an important film production has been completed. We see such collaborations as the best way to promote our country internationally. For GNTO [Greek National Tourism Organization], synergies in large productions with an impact abroad are a priority and we will continue to support similar projects in the future,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said.

In June, Fragakis met with executives of the French production to finalise the details of the collaboration.

Despite the difficulties due to the pandemic, the actors of the film had the opportunity to visit the most important monuments and sights of Attica and Aegina, and at the same time enjoy the Greek hospitality and gastronomy.

“The experience of shooting in Greece was truly unforgettable! We were lucky to work in a place of such history and amazing nature. We are sure that the viewers will "travel" with the characters of the film, will remember the beautiful holiday moments they have lived in Greece and will want to visit it next summer… We look forward to sharing the images of this beautiful country with the French spectators,” director François Uzan said.

‘On sourit pour la photo’ stars Jacques Gamblin, Pascale Arbillot, Pablo Pauly, Agnès Hurstel and youtuber Ludovik.

The script sees Thierry spend his days going through old family albums, convinced that his best years are behind him. When his wife Claire, bored of his “it was better before” attitude, tells him that she’s leaving him, devastated Theirry offers to redo “Greece 1998”, their best ever family holiday. The official line is that he wants to spend one last week with his children before announcing the divorce, but in reality, Theirry hopes to save his marriage.
