This year Los Angeles Greek Film Festival has started and is online

From October 1st to October 15th, the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF - www.lagff.org) is being organized this year online due to the pandemic. The Secretary General of Public Diplomacy and Hellenes Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Giannis Chrysoulakis, opened this year's Festival with a message to all the actors and spectators of this emblematic artistic event.

The Secretary General, among other things, stressed that "The General Secretariat of Public Diplomacy and Hellenes Abroad embraces this Festival-organization that promotes Greek culture, artistic expression and Greek film production here in Los Angeles, the heart of the cinema world, as well as to the wider international audience. This is because the General Secretariat supports cultural activities promoting Greece in all aspects of artistic creation and is proud to be actively present for another year, through the Consulate General of Greece in Los Angeles and the support it provides for the Greek Cinema Festival."

LAGFF presents new films from Greece and Cyprus and includes works by international filmmakers of Greek origin.

"With over 50 new appearances, short films, documentaries and animated films, LAGFF 2020 is one of the largest Greek Film Festivals in the world. Many films premiere in the USA and the West Coast," said the Artistic Director of the Festival, Mr. Aristotelis Katopodis.

The Festival promotes Greek cinema, cultural exchange and contributes to bridging the gap between filmmakers and Hollywood.

In addition to films, documentaries and animations, the LAGFF program includes online Masterclass seminars by entertainment industry protagonists such as Paramount Pictures President and CEO Jim Gianopoulos, award-winning Emmy directors Greg Yaitan famous actress-producer, Nia Vardalos.
