Tesla is rapidly entering the Greek market. In summer 2020, the company began preparations for the opening of a store and service center, followed by an official opportunity to order cars. Now the Greek Prime Minister has become the proud owner of Tesla Model 3.
Mid-June, Tesla announced recruitment for the positions of Sales & Delivery Manager and Tesla Advisor. In a job description, the company wrote that it was preparing for its entry into Greece; both positions are based in Athens.
On August 1, Tesla opened an order page and a configurator for buying its vehicles in Greece. Taking advantage of the start-up of government incentives for buying electric vehicles, the company is dynamically entering the Greek market. All Tesla vehicles with a base price below €50,000 before taxes are eligible for Greece's e-Mobility subsidy program.
Then, on September 4, Tesla opened its first pop-up stand in Athens, located at Golden Hall shopping center. Visitors have perhaps their first opportunity to get to know Model 3 up-close and personal. The Tesla booth is open from Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm, and will remain open until December 3, 2020.
The service center is expected to be ready before Tesla cars ship to Greece in November, so local Tesla owners can soon begin accessing hassle-free service for their vehicle.
The first Tesla Supercharger station is then slated to launch in Greece by the end of 2020. Back in February this year, company representatives visited the country to meet with government officials and pertinent authorities to discuss this issue.
