The largest Greek island, Crete, has been added to the UK’s “travel corridor”.
This means that any holidaymakers returning to the UK after 4am on Sunday 18th October, won't need to quarantine.
British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the news on Twitter.
"We are ADDING CRETE to the #TravelCorridor list this week. From 4am Sunday 18 Oct, if you arrive from Crete, you will NO LONGER need to self-isolate. ALSO THIS WEEK, the whole of the UK is now aligned with our advice around all of the Greek islands."
The news comes a week after five Greek islands- Lesvos, Santorini, Serifos, Tinos and Zakynthos- were added to the England’s quarantine exemption list
It is noted that the island of Mykonos still remains on the quarantine list.
Greece extends travel restrictions until October 25
All passengers arriving in Greece must fill in a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) at least a day before arrival, providing information that will include their departure airport, the address where they will be staying and the expected duration of their stay in Greece, among others. The information on the form is a key element of the country’s planning for protection against the pandemic and preventing the spread of the virus.

Airlines that do not comply with this control obligation will be responsible for the repatriation of passengers at the expense of the company.
