Greece has increased the number of passengers from Israel entering the country to 10,000 from the current 5,000, according to a new aviation directive (NOTAM) issued by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority.
In addition, the NOTAM states:
- Due to the strikes of the employees of the CAA, which were scheduled for Sunday 18 and for Monday 19 October and result in cancellations and modifications of flights by the airlines, the passengers who are affected by their flight are given the opportunity to change the date and to come to Greece on Tuesday with a negative Covid-19 test, which does not exceed 96 hours from the date it was performed. This aviation directive will be valid until Tuesday, October 20, at midnight and applies only to passengers who are affected by the mobilisations.
- Regarding the aviation directive for the restrictions of flights to and from Kozani's "Filippos" airport, valid until Thursday, October 29 at midnight, another exception is added: local training flights will be allowed.
- Finally, for the air directive (NOTAM) concerning travellers from Israel (permanent residents), which is valid until October 25 and provides that those travelling to Greece via an air connection from Israel can only enter Greece with a negative Covid-19 test, the maximum number of arrivals has been raised to 10,000 passengers per week from 5,000, with arrivals at all airports in Greece.
Protocol for arrivals in Greece
It is reminded that all passengers arriving in Greece must fill in a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) at least a day before arrival, providing information that will include their departure airport, the address where they will be staying and the expected duration of their stay in Greece, among others. The information on the form is a key element of the country’s planning for protection against the pandemic and preventing the spread of the virus.
