Lethal Nationalism: Genocide of the Greeks 1913 – 1923 is a historical documentary that for the first time charts Ottoman Empire's and Turkish Nationalists Genocide of its 3,000-year-old ethnic Greek population, taking only 10 years to destroy over 3 millennia of history.

Since 1913 the Turkish government – including the founder of modern Turkey - exterminated or exiled over one million Christians of Greek heritage, collectively over 3 million Christian minorities of Asia Minor were exterminated.

This was the genocide that set the model for all future genocides.

Turkish governmental denial continues to this day.

The veil of secrecy will be lifted and the story of the Greeks of Asia Minor will be told.

With this film, Lethal Nationalism: Genocide of the Greeks 1913 – 1923, the forgotten story of the Hellenic people of Asia Minor can be remembered, the deafening silence of their stories can now be heard, their 3,000 years of existence and their important contributions to the world cannot be erased, and the story of their struggle can ensure that we learn from history so that it may never repeat itself again.

DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY

In his 20 years as a videographer, producer, director and editor, Peter Lambrinatos has worked for CBS News, Univision, Chicago’s WBBM-TV (CBS2), WGN-TV, and several independent production houses. He has shot and directed news and feature stories in Cuba, Mexico and Greece.

Lambrinatos served as videographer and assistant editor for the short documentary ‘Reporting for Service with Bryan Anderson.’ The film won a Midwest Emmy® Award for Outstanding Achievement for Human Interest Programming.

ABOUT BYZANFEST 2020

Established in 2014, Byzanfest is the world's only online Orthodox Christian film festival streaming the very best short and feature-length films.

The festival showcases films which reflect Orthodox Christian themes, beliefs, culture and values. All films tell visual stories which are inspired and guided by living a life in Christ.

All films will be available to view on-demand globally from 23rd October until 8th November (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on the official Festival website: byzanfest.com.

This year’s event is split into two sections: short-films and feature-lengths.

The short-film section will comprise of 14 films – all FREE to view – from Byzanfest’s YouTube channel.
