His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America thanked the Greek government for its 2 million euro annual donation to the Hellenic College Holy Cross in Boston.

The Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (HCHC) is an Orthodox Christian liberal arts college and seminary in Brookline, Massachusetts. Its mission is to educate individuals for life and service in the Orthodox Christian community; this includes men preparing for the priesthood of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and other Orthodox Christian entities, as well as men and women for leadership roles in the church or within secular society. Hellenic College collaborates with Orthodox Church‐affiliated institutions and ministries, and offers opportunities for lifelong learning.

The donation was presented by Greek Ambassador to the US Alexandra Papadopoulou, during her visit to the college last week.

"With the tremendous generosity of the Hellenic Republic to HCHC Boston, I am delighted to host Ambassador Alexandra Papadopoulou on the campus today and share with her and the People of Greece the progress at our premier institution in America," His Eminence posted on social media.

The donation was an initiative of former Deputy Minister for Diaspora Greeks Antonis Diamataris, and is provided on an annual basis to support the college.

"This is a significant investment of mother Greece to her children in the Diaspora, which shows the spiritual, national and linguistic ties between us," His Eminence continued.
