Born and raised in Manchester, Chris Pappas is a small business owner and community-driven leader who has a record of addressing some of New Hampshire’s most pressing challenges.
Of Greek descent via his paternal great-grandfather, Pappas was first elected to public office in 2002, serving two terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He then was elected to two terms as treasurer of Hillsborough County, and has been elected to three consecutive terms on the New Hampshire Executive Council.
When Chris was elected to the U.S. House in 2018, he became New Hampshire’s first openly gay member of Congress.
