System Of A Down have just released new music for the first time in 15 years, both highly emotional, but the song ‘Protect The Land’ certainly standing out in its tribute to Armenians defending their homeland from the current Azeri-Turkish invasion.

The band explained that the two newly released songs, the other being ‘Genocidal Humanoidz,’ were made to highlight the “dire and serious war being perpetrated upon our cultural homelands of Artsakh and Armenia.”

System Of A Down – Protect The Land.

A Turkish-sponsored invasion of Artsakh by the Azerbaijani military and Syrian mercenaries began on September 27. The war has thus far led to severe human right violations by the Turkish-sponsored invaders against Armenians, including beheadings, the chopping of ears and noses, and the execution of the elderly and disabled.

Despite the superior manpower, military budget and technology of the Turkish-sponsored invaders, Armenians continue to resist the invaders and defend their lands.

In tribute to this David and Goliath battle, System of a Down have made a highly emotional tribute to those fighting to defend Artsakh.

LYRICS:

The big gun tells you what your life is worth
What do we deserve before we end the earth
If they will try to push you far away
Would you stay
And take a stand
Would you stay with gun in hand
They protect the land
They protect the land

Those who protect the land
Those who protect the land
Those who protect

The enemy of man is his own decay
If they’re evil now then evil they will stay
They will try to push you far away
Would you stay and take a stand
Would you stay with gun in hand
They protect the land
They protect the land
They protect the land

Our history and victory and legacy we send
From scavengers and invaders those who protect the land
Those who protect the land
Those who protect
Those who protect the land
Those who protect

Some were forced to foreign lands
Some would lay dead on the sand
Would you stay and take command
Would you stay with gun in hand (with gun in hand)
They protect the land
They protect the land
They protect the land

Our history and victory and legacy we send
From scavengers and invaders those who protect the land
Our history and victory and legacy we send
From scavengers and invaders those who protect
Those who protect the land
Those who protect the land
Those who protect
Those who protect the land
Those who protect
