Greek Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos condemned Turkey's illegal actions in the maritime zones of Greece and Cyprus.
"We had the opportunity to discuss the progress of our cooperation in the defense sector," the Minister of National Defense said during his meeting with his Israeli and Cypriot counterparts yesterday.
"We condemn Turkey's illegal, provocative and unilateral actions in the maritime zones of Greece and Cyprus, which are a clear violation of the international law of good neighborly relations, but also an undermining of regional stability and peace in the Eastern Mediterranean," Panagiotopoulos said while in Nicosia.
Turkey's Yavuz drilling ship has continually violated the Cypriot continental shelf."We systematically seek to strengthen the interoperability of our Armed Forces and to make full use of the capabilities and comparative advantages of our countries, in areas of mutual interest, such as joint training programs, cross-sectoral exercises, military intelligence exchange, naval security and naval security," he continued.
Ankara continues to use its navy to violate the maritime zones of Greece and Cyprus in their pursuit of stealing the natural resources found in the continental shelf.
