Two illegal immigrants from Syria attempted to rape a 12-year-old boy in Central Greece.
The attempted rape by two Syrian men was denounced late on Wednesday night by the mother of the victim.
The mother and the child are also from Syria and are being hosted in the Refugee-Immigrant Structure of Thebes, Lamia Report revealed.
According to the complaint, two men who were also being hosted in the Theban camp, dragged the 12-year-old child into a container.
They then tried to take off his clothes.
With a loud voice and the resistance from the 12-year-old, their criminal act was fortunately stopped when the mother notified the person in charge of the migrant camp.
Following an investigation by Thebes Security, two Syrian men, aged 26 and 25, were arrested on charges of attempted rape.
The arrested are expected to be brought before the Prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Thebes.
Unfortunately, rape and attempted rape have become a common theme in Greece since the 2015 mass migration.
In September, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Afghanistan was arrested for attempting to rape an Iranian woman in northwestern Greece, as previously reported by Greek City Times.
