Pakistani Minister withdraws fake news Tweet accusing France of treating Muslims like Nazis did to Jews

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian demanded that Pakistan's Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari withdraw her ridiculous Tweets that Emmanuel Macron was treating Muslims in France like Nazis had treated Jews in World War Two.

Turkey and Pakistan, unlike France, do not have freedom of expression, explaining their outrage that Muhammed, the founder of Islam, was drawn in French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

“Macron is doing to Muslims what the Nazis did to the Jews - Muslim children will get ID numbers (other children won’t) just as Jews were forced to wear the yellow star on their clothing for identification,” Mazari said in a tweet.

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari.

The source of her tweet was a fake news tweet that amended the article clarifying that all children in France, and not just to Muslim children, will receive ID numbers.

Rather than retracting her tweet, Mazari insisted on her claims, prompting Le Drian to highlight that she was spreading “blatant lies, imbued with an ideology of hatred and violence.”

When it became untenable for Mazari to defend the fake news, she finally tweeted on Sunday that “The article I had cited has been corrected by the relevant publication, I have also deleted my tweet on the same.”

Pakistan’s parliament at the end of October passed a resolution urging the government to recall its envoy from Paris, accusing Macron of “hate-mongering” against Muslims, Reuters reported.

However, Islamabad embarrassed themselves as it turned out that Pakistan had no ambassador in Paris for several months.

More humiliating though, despite Pakistan's strong denouncement of France and Macron, they still had the audacity to request Paris to repair their French-made fighter jets, submarines and air defense system, as previously reported by Greek City Times.
