Christmas shines bright at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (VIDEO)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The Christmas World at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) came alive on Tuesday December 1.

The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t stop the Christmas decorations from shining bright, spreading cheer, hope, joy and love.

Spectators from all over Greece and abroad watched the event online. It was a spectacular celebration for all!

The night was hosted by Greek musician Foivos Delivorias, who set the festive tone. He was joined on stage by his electric quartet (Sotiris Douvas, Costis Christodoulou, Kostas Pantelis, Yoel Soto), Nefeli Fasouli, comedians Thanasis Alevras and Byron Theodoropoulos, and guest of honour Vassilikos.

The GNO Children’s Choir under the direction of Konstantina Pitsiakou also participated with beloved, festive sounds.

Undoubtedly, one of the most special moments of the night was the Canal’s Dancing Fountains.

The Christmas World is brought to life through a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The complex in the bay of Faliro, has become one of Athens’ most visited spots by both locals and tourists.

The magnificent park has been transformed with thousands of Christmas light twinkling on trees along the canal and lavishly decorated, tall Christmas trees.

Stay tuned for a rich program of events, concerts, theatrical performances, light installations, festive choreographies with the dancing fountains, creative workshops, and much more at the SNFCC throughout the month of December, culminating in an online New Year’s Eve celebration.
