Following the conclusion of the week long joint sea-air military exercise “Medusa” with Cyprus, Egypt, France and the United Arab Emirates in Alexandria and Egypt, Greece continues to engage in a flurry of diplomatic activity, building more alliances in the region.
Greece’s Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is expected to arrive in Amman Jordan today to participate in a trilateral Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Cyprus and Jordan.
According to a statement by the Greek foreign ministry, the meeting will explore the trilateral political and economic cooperation, as well as regional developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and Syria.
At the conclusion of the Jordanian visit, the Greek Foreign Minister is expected to travel to Brussels to participate in a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.
The agenda includes EU-Turkey relations ahead of the European Council meeting next week, post-election developments in Georgia, the situation in Venezuela, and human rights issues. The EU’s transatlantic relations will also be discussed.
Finally, during the working luncheon, the Foreign Ministers will discuss the Union’s strategic autonomy and developments in Hong Kong.
