ION assists in a donation of 12 fully-equipped ICU beds to Nikea General State Hospital

Greece's most popular and recognised chocolate brand, ION, on Tuesday announced that it has contributed to the donation of 12 new ICU beds to the General Hospital of Nikaia Agios Panteleimon.

According to the announcement, the donation exceeds 1.5 million euros and includes the acquisition of all the special equipment needed for an ICU, covers the expense for all construction work, the necessary healthcare and hospital equipment and any need that may arise due to the expansion of the hospital's ICU ward.

The donation was made jointly by ION and the entrepreneurs Vangelis Marinakis and Angeliki Fragou.

Greece’s most popular and recognised chocolate brand ‘ION’ first launched in Athens in 1930.

Although the first chocolate recipe was manufactured in 1927, the company was formally incorporated in 1930, with the main location being in Neo Faliro, Piraeus.
