The Greek “Dream Team” battling for the COVID-19 vaccine

Greeks seem to be making up the “Dream Team” that lead the fight against COVID-19.

Several pharmaceutical companies that have developed an effective vaccine are managed by Greek CEOs and Vice Presidents, while our compatriots hold the top academic positions.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will hold tonight a teleconference with top executives of pharmaceutical giants, to discuss ways in which Greece can develop a strong and competitive biopharmaceutical industry.

Among the participants are Spyros Artavanis-Tsakonas (Harvard Medical School, President of ESETEK), Albert Bourlas (President and CEO of Pfizer), Costis Maglaras (Rector of Columbia Business School), Sir Menelas Astangos (President of Menelas Astangos) ) and George Yancopoulos (President of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals).

Each of them has contributed significantly to the fight to defeat COVID-19.
