Oruç Reis research vessel has left the port of Antalya towards Aegean

A huge storm heading towards Antalya Bay has forced Oruç Reis, its support vessels and dozens of container and dry load ships to leave and head towards the Aegean Sea with its final destination unknown.

The crew of the Oruç Reis have disabled its AIS system, so it cannot be tracked on Marine Traffic but at its last coordinates, it still was in Turkish waters.

Over the weekend the Turkish Navy on issued three illegal and provocative navigational warnings (NAVTEX) demanding the demilitarisation of the Greek islands of Samothraki, Lemnos, Chios, Samos, Tilos and Halk
