A Greek won the UNICEF ​​award for photo of the year

Each year, UNICEF awards the "Photo of the Year Award" to the photograph that in its opinion best captures the personality and living conditions of children around the world.

For 2020, the award was given to AFP's Greek photographer Angelos Tzortzinis, who captured the moment when refugee children from the Moria camp are running to save themselves from the fire that broke out last September.

The Athens-born photographer in a post on social media states that "I am honored to receive this special award, photo of the year 2020 by UNICEF," adding "the children are the future and we are responsible for them."
