I have noticed the view of Turkey and its Islamist leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by some analysts have taken a major step back.
In the past, they have passionately argued that "we have to deal" with Turkey, hoping that this would put an end to the threats and problems posed by Erdoğan.
Their new placement is important and correct.
In previous years, many believed that Erdoğan adhered to this belligerent stance against Greece for internal reasons - a position with which I disagreed.
Now they understand the obvious since Erdoğan is no longer hiding.
It does not, therefore, threaten Greece and Cyprus for internal reasons.
What is happening in the Aegean, and of course, in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone, becomes the basis of a plan.
The Turkish political leadership as a whole believes that the Aegean belongs to them.
For Cyprus, let us no longer discuss what Erdoğan has in mind - Turkey has already decided that the island will remain under its influence.
Dialogue and conversations are for the naïve supporters of the pro-Turkish and racist Annan plan, as well as for the helpless UN Secretary General, who is looking for something to do to pass the time.
In recent days, with targeted leaks, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs is guiding journalists in a way that aims to "sanctify" investigative contacts with the Turks.
The so-called exploratory talks are negotiations of course, and let them not play with the words there in the Foreign Ministry.
There are regular talks and "surrender" by diplomats who have "commitments" to neo-liberal beliefs: That is, "to create talks at all costs" with the Turks.
We have explained many times and with indisputable arguments that problems are not solved when only one side proves in action its love for peace.
The vast majority of Greeks and Greek Cypriots reject war and do the right thing.
But, at the same time, they know that Greece and Cyprus are facing Turkey, not Saint Mauritius.
We want peace.
We do not discuss it.
But the other side, our "neighbors", with whom we are doomed to live together, are eyeing Greek and Cypriot sovereignty and independence.
Based on the Greek leaks, Greece and Turkey will talk in January.
Of course, we have heard the same story all these months. We reached the end of one of the meetings and Turkey was shaking them in the air.
Now things are different to before as Erdoğan is playing another game, visible to the naked eye: it is just a game.
But it serves the painless Europeans not to impose sanctions, not to take action when two European Union member states, Greece and Cyprus, are threatened, and when a European leader, French President Emmanuel Macron, is being humiliated.
Under the pretext that talks have begun, the Germans and their satellites will refuse to agree to take action against Turkey.
The papers are marked.
At the same time, Athens and Nicosia are being served, because in the midst of the talks, Turkey must stop threatening Greece and Cyprus.
What they will really do is this: they will not bother in Kastellorizo but in the Cypriot EEZ so that the Europeans, but also Athens, can say that Turkey has scaled back escalations.
Funny things.
I will therefore agree with these serious analysts, who argue that in times of crisis you do not try to settle national issues.
I will agree with them that Greece and Cyprus are facing the most aggressive Turkey in the history of Greek-Turkish relations, and at a time when the biggest superpower, the U.S., has lost its power and glamor.
