Digital platform emvolio.gov.gr, through which citizens of Greece register to be vaccinated against COVID-19, went 'online' earlier this week.
As of January, citizens with an online-confirmed appointment will go to specified vaccination centres where their temperature will be taken.
Then a doctor will take down their medical history and decide if the process may go ahead.
"The National Vaccination Campaign for COVID-19 has started," the website states.
"The vaccine is in our hands. Approved for its safety, quality and effectiveness by the relevant international and national organizations, the World Health Organization, the EMA (European Medicines Agency) and the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration)," the website added.
On Sunday, vaccinations begin for front-line health workers, including doctors and nurses, and the elderly who live in nursing home facilities.
According to a government official, 70,000 individuals will be vaccinated against the coronavirus by January 10.
The number includes 45 government officials deemed crucial for the functioning of the state.
According to the schedule, Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas, will be the first to be vaccinated on December 27.
