Greek authorities seized 35kg of cocaine hidden in a container at the Port of Piraeus.

According to the Hellenic Police, the drugs were concealed in the walls of the container which was declared as “food items.”

Thirty packages containing 35 kilograms of cocaine were uncovered.

The container was loaded on a ship that departed from the Port of Guayaquil in Ecuador on November 15 and arrived at the Port of Piraeus on December 7.

More than 150 containers were inspected in 20 days, until authorities located the drugs.

Investigations are being carried out by the Drug Prosecution Department of the Financial Crimes Division, the Directorate of Drug Prosecution and Smuggling of the Coast Guard, the 3rd Customs Directorate of Piraeus and the assistance of the D.E.A. Office. of the US Embassy in Athens.
