Two fishermen from Nea Roda, Halkidiki, saved a dolphin which was tangled in fishing nets.

Costas Axiotis and Kyriakos Vorisis were fishing on their boat near a rocky shore at Akrotiri Arapis, near Mount Athos, when they chanced upon the aquatic mammal.

Without much hesitation, they approached it and cut through the net that was wrapped around the body as it struggled to swim.

"As a professional fisherman, I wanted to show that we respect and love the sea and what is in it, because it is our second home," Costas Axiotis told halkidikinews.
