The President-Elect wrote the letter as a response to the congratulatory letter made by Anastadiadis after the formers elections victory in November.

According to a written statement by the Cypriot Government Spokesman, Kyriakos Kousios:

Biden's letter stated that with elected US Vice President Kamala Harris, they deal with global challenges.

They cited examples such as the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, which transcend national borders and require international cooperation.

It is recalled that in the election campaign, Biden released his Vision of Greece where he promised to deal with Turkish aggression and work diplomatically to bring a resolution to the Cyprus question.
