Greek health authorities have announced 597 new coronavirus cases over the past day, along with 43 deaths. Statistics included:
- Cases: Attica 210, Thessaloniki 79, Rhodope 37, Laconia 21, Xanthi 17, imported 5.
- Tests: Molecular 14,679 & Rapid Ag 13,960.
There are also 429 patients on ventilators, while 893 have exited intensive care units.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in February 2020, there have been 139,447 confirmed infections and 4,881 fatalities.
Overnight 77,940 police checks across Greece on December 31st for adherence to coronavirus measures found 1,668 violations in total:
- 1,375 for breaking circulation rules (€300 fine)
- 286 for not wearing masks etc (281 fines of €300, 5 of €150)
- 7 for violating store/cafe opening restrictions.
