A columnist for Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet, as reported by SKAI's correspondent in Constantinople, Manolis Kostidis, considers the agreement on the delimitation of the Greek-Egyptian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to be a success for them.
"The withdrawal of Oruç Reis after six months is the result of a dead-end policy," the columnist said.
"It is not realistic, nor legal, nor applicable to increase the area of the 'Blue Homeland' since you have included it in the theory of the EEZ in an area of 464,000 square kilometers", he added.
"You cannot include in the Blue Homeland your whole theory of an EEZ. And this was proved, as we could not send a ship to the areas that Greece agreed with Egypt. Turkey was forced to retreat," said the journalist.
However, the representative of the ruling party of Turkey (AKP) Ömer Çelik, continues his complaints.
"We achieved our goals with the Turkish-Libyan agreement, we took a big step to secure our interests and rights in the EEZ in the Eastern Mediterranean," claimed Çelik.
