The completion of of COVID-19 vaccinations in nursing homes will occur by the end of January, according to Deputy Minister of Labor, Domna Michailidou.
The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, speaking with MEGA, highlighted that vaccinations in nursing homes started on January 4 and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
A total of 30,000 people will be vaccinated in this first group, while so far more than 1,000 have been vaccinated in Athens and Thessaloniki.
As he said, 50% of nursing homes in Greece are located in Athens and that is why the vaccinations start from the capital.
The reason that there is some delay in vaccinations is because "the first week shows if the planning is functional and correct."
For the kindergartens, he claimed that with care and dedication to the measures, kindergartens and schools will open on Monday.
At the same time, rapid tests will be performed .
For areas with extremely heavy epidemiological burden and which are in severe lockdown, such as western Attica and northern Greece, no such openings will occur.
