First upgraded F-16 "in the Greek skies"

An F-16 of the Hellenic Airforce, upgraded by the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (EAV) and Lockheed Martin, completed its first test run on Sunday.

"The first Greek #F16 upgraded to version #Viper in #EAV made his maiden flight today, with complete success. At the end of the month it will be at its facilities #LockheedMartin The upgrade of the PA fleet continues at an intensive pace," Panagiotopoulos tweeted.

According to EAV, the completion of the first of a series of F-16 upgrades "was completed within the timetable, with no deviation."

"Regarding the factors of this success, congratulations to the staff and all the participants, emphasising the excellent cooperation between Lockheed Martin, ODA and the Air Force," the announcement concludes.

Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS) chief Constantine Floros confirmed the event, welcoming "the first F-16 Viper in Greek skies".

"The first #F16#Viper in the Greek skies!! The Greek Air Force even higher !!! The heavens are ours !!! "Ayen Ypsikratin," he posted on Twitter.
