Greece braces for more snow, rain, high winds and below freezing temperatures.

According to the National Observatory of Athens weather service, dense snow is expected in central and southern Greece.

Gale-force winds are also tipped to hit the south Aegean.

The continued cold front has led the Attica region to announce school closures in several communities to the north and northwest of Athens, such as Oropos, Villia, Grammatiko and Varnavas, and as far south as the former Olympic Village.

It is recalled due to the coronavirus restrictions, only kindergartens and primary schools are currently open in Greece.
