A new cold front bringing heavy rain, snow and storms reached Greece on Tuesday morning, affecting mainly the western parts of the country.
The wave of bad weather, which will grip the entire country on Tuesday and Wednesday, is expected to result in snowfall even at low altitudes in northern Greece, heavy rain in most parts of the country and a drop in temperatures of up to 12C in just 8-12 hours.
It will also bring gale-force winds at sea.
On Tuesday evening, snow is expected at low altitudes in central and northern parts of the country and North Aegean islands.
There is also a possibility intermittent snow at low altitudes in Central Greece and the Western Peloponnese.
