Greece's Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and his Serbian counterpart Tatjana Matic, agreed to sign a joint memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism.
The agreement foresees a mutual recognition of an 'electronic Covid-19 vaccination certificate' for travel between the two countries.
“This will allow entry to vaccinated citizens of both countries, whereas a negative PCR test or antigen test will be obligatory for the unvaccinated citizens. Also, random rapid tests will be done at the border,” Matic said in the announcement.
Conditions for travel this summer, from May 1 to October 1, were also addressed:
Earlier this month, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called for the creation of an EU-wide Covid-19 vaccination certificate that will help restore safe travel that has been devastated by the pandemic.
The idea was addressed in a letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
It was also raised during an EU leaders’ video conference last week.
