World first: Greek village drive-thru donkey covid rapid tests

The small village of Helidoni, near ancient Olympia, is a world first drive-through covid testing  site whereby medical workers test patients while they are sitting on their donkeys.

Sampling there is accomplished through nasal swabs therefore the workers had some trouble reaching back into the nasal passages of their higher than usual patients.

Still, the testing was performed, allowing the villagers to go on their way quickly back home.

“In our villages, people keep the traditions even for covid tests,” says the local Greek website ilialive.gr
