Bomb disposal experts were called to a construction site in Sochos, Thessaloniki, on Monday after a military-type grenade was found by municipal workers.
According to reports, the grenade is a remnant of World War II.
After the employees discovered the device, they immediately alerted authorities who cordoned off the area.
Bomb disposal specialists removed the grenade and transported it to a safe place where it will be neutralised.
