What de-escalation? Turkey violates Greek airspace over 100 times in January

At a time when the European Union and some within the Greek government are praising Turkey's supposed de-escalation, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA) revealed that the opposite is true.

According to data from GEETHA, 73 Turkish aircraft entered Greece's national airspace and the Athens Flight Information Region in January.

These violations were made with Turkey not submitting flight plans as required by international aviation organisations.

Seven of the Turkish jets were armed.

There were 66 violations of air traffic rules, 128 violations of national airspace, seven blockages (virtual air combat) and six overflights over islands and islets.
