A pilot in a two-seater training aircraft was found dead in the wreckage of a crash in Dikorfo, a small village in the region of Epirus, on Wednesday.

It is recalled the aircraft went off the radar on Sunday in the area of Miliotades, in the Mitsikeli mountain range in Ioannina.

The only passenger on board was its pilot, 32-year-old Iraqi national, Amar Ibrahim.

Investigators do not know what caused the plane to crash.

He is one of about 100 trainee pilots from Iraq currently living in the city of Kozani. Ibrahim completed his first solo flight on July 28, 2020.
