Greek authorities seize 34kg of cocaine in banana containers at Piraeus port

A large operation conducted by drug enforcement officers in cooperation with a US Department of Homeland Security team from the US Embassy in Athens, took place at the port of Piraeus on Tuesday.

There, authorities seized just under 34 kilograms of cocaine.

The 28 bags were hidden in a shipment of bananas from Ecuador.

The container had departed on 10-1-2021 from the port of Guayaquil in Ecuador and had arrived on 2-2-2021 in the Athens port.
