New FOX animated comedy set in Ancient GreeceUS production company Fox Entertainment is working on a new animated comedy series that will be set in Ancient Greece.

The show is currently targeting a 2022 premiere date.

The series will centre on a family of mortals, gods and monsters.

"This project is an incredibly irreverent family comedy as told by one of the town’s most inventive storytellers. We are proud to be partnered with Dan on this series, which strengthens our hold on the animation space and, as we continue to build Fox Entertainment, marks an important first step for us with our first fully-owned scripted property," he added.

Award-winning comedian, writer, and producer, Dan Harmon is heading the new project.

Harmon is known best for his work on the smash-hit animated series “Rick and Morty” and is the recipient of two Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program and one for Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics for Oscar host Hugh Jackman’s opening number at the 81st Annual Academy Awards.

Voice casting for the Ancient Greek series is currently under way.
