Following heavy snowfall in the Greek capital, thirty-seven machines were deployed to clear roads on Tuesday.
According to the announcement by the Municipality of Athens, all the major roads were accessible during this large operation.
Specifically there was 22 machines of the Municipality, 13 vehicles of Central Greece Region and Lamia and 2 of the Attica Region.
At the same time, 15 road crews scattered salt on the roads, to keep Athenians moving safety (for essential movement).
The operation continued late into the night.
Furthermore, the municipality's "Street Work" crews have been operating on a 24-hour basis, handing out warm clothing, food and hot beverages to the city's homeless.
