The Minister of Tourism, Haris Theocharis, spoke among other things about the vaccination certificate for tourists.
He confirmed that it will be used in Greece, Proto Thema reported.
As he said, Europe is oriented in the same direction as revealed by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who admitted the necessity of the certificate.
As the minister explained, the certificate will have the name of the holder, the date they received the vaccine and its expiration.
In the beginning, as Theocharis said, Greece will be quite conservative regarding the duration of immunity.
Speaking about myths that are heard regarding the certificate, he underlined that no hotel will be able to refuse hospitality if someone does not have the vaccine.
A prerequisite for someone to travel to Greece will be a negative molecular test or a vaccination certificate.
In fact, if someone does not want to show their vaccination certificate, they can just have the negative test.
He noted that personal data will be protected in every case.
Theocharis, talking about this year, expressed his optimism for tourism.
As he said, he thinks it will be a better year compared to 2020.
He also estimated that the situation may be better after Easter.
