Abandoned historical building collapses in the centre of Athens

An empty building collapsed on Patision Street in central Athens at around noon

Abandoned historical building has collapsed on Patision Street in the centre of Athens around noon.

A foreigner of Pakistani nationality was found unconscious near the collapsed abandoned building at the intersection of Patision and Sarandaporou Streets.

Police were questioning the uninjured man to see if there were any other people in the damaged building.

Ten firefighters with six trucks are operating at the spot, while men of the Fire Service Rescue unit EMAK with a search and rescue dog to search for any more bodies.
