Last night a fire broke out in the immigrant camp of Haradinini, Thebes. The facility is near Thebes' town, some 90 kilometres (55 miles) from the Greek capital.
It said the boy had already been pulled out of the fire by camp residents and was not breathing and unfortunately was not able to be resuscitated
The fire broke out for reasons unknown. When the fire brigade arrived at the scene, they were attacked with stones by immigrants who were housed there
MAT forces (riot police) were then sent to the scene to suppress the tensions so that the firefighters could act and proceed to extinguish the fire
A fire service statement said eight firemen with four fire engines were finally able to extinguish the blaze in a building in the camp.
