Greece is a "U.S. colony" says theoretician of Turkey's failed "Blue Homeland"

Retired Turkish Admiral Cem Gürdeniz, one of the theorists behind Turkey's failed "Blue Homeland" theory to steal Greek maritime space in the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Sea, claimed that Greece is a U.S. colony.

Commenting on the Turkish Ministry of Defense's allegations that Greek F-16s harassed the Turkish Çeşme research vessel yesterday, Gürdeniz spoke of a "planned challenge from Greece", which, according him had the "OK" of the U.S.

The Çeşme is conducting an illegal investigation in the central Aegean, basing its research on a NAVTEX, the international maritime navigational telex/notification system, from the coastal station of Smyrna (Σμύρνα, Turkish: İzmir) instead of the one from Lemnos.

The Lemnos NAVTEX station is the only one with the authority to issue a notice for that part of the Aegean.

"Let's say from the beginning that it is a planned challenge, Greece cannot decide this on its own. Behind this decision, we can definitely say that there are some Atlanticist forces," he said, speaking to CNN Türk.

"Greece is a representative state and does not do anything on its own. It does what others tell it and at the moment we are sad to see that it has entered this process again," he said.

"In my opinion, it has become an absolute colony of the U.S.," he added.
