Stefanos and Petros sail into ATP Rotterdam second round

In a clash of heavy hitters, Tsitsipas brothers Stefanos and Petros defeated Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen 6-2, 6-3, to reach the second round of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.

The 'Tsitsi-bros' also earned a win in more ways than one.

As reported first on GCT, Stefanos announced that he will donate €3,000 to ‘Mazi gia to Paidi’ for every doubles win with his partner, his brother Petros.

“I donate anyways, but I think that’s an extra reason to push ourselves, to want to do better,” he said.

Stefanos has been an ambassador for the charitable organisation since 2018.

Founded in 1996, ‘Mazi Gia to Paidi’ (Together For Children NGO) is a non-profit Association, offering every form of assistance to children and young people irrespective of their race, religion or political conviction.

They support more than 30,000 children on an annual basis, including more than 10,000 direct children beneficiaries, who face poverty and social exclusion, domestic violence, chronic diseases, mental or physical disabilities and the sickness or death of an immediate family member.

We remind our GCT followers that earlier this week the 22-year-old also revealed his desire to play “as many doubles as possible” with Petros in 2021.

“It’s been a dream of mine. It’s only happened a few times in 250 events and I want to take this opportunity and play with him. We made our Grand Slam debut a month ago at the Australian Open, which is the best memory of my life,” he said.

This match was the brothers’ first tour-level win together. Bravo!!

They will now face Henri Kontinen and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
