Unlike other politicians, former PM Costas Simitis waited patiently in the queue to get vaccinated against covid-19.

The 85-year-old, wearing a mask and observing all protection measures, received the second dose at Evangelismos Athens General Hospital.

Earlier in the day, Greece surpassed the one million mark in coronavirus vaccinations in an “organised and fast” inoculation campaign.

“With each passing week, we build the wall of immunity that will allow us to leave this health crisis behind,” Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis said.

“In fact, from April, we will have many more doses at our disposal. And as the weather improves, it will become our ally,” he continued.
