Greece update on coronavirus

Greek authorities announced 2,405 new cases of coronavirus and 49 fatalities in the past 24 hours Friday.

Greece’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases is now 217,018, with 6,986 dead.

A total of 521 patients remain intubated in intensive care units while 1,472 have left ICU.

The all-male monastic community of Mount Athos announced on Friday it will extend its ban on visitors to March 31, as part of measures against the coronavirus pandemic.

Furthermore, staff or other essential visitors will be tested for the coronavirus at all entry ports to Mt. Athos. Mt. Athos has remained closed to visitors since November 10, 2020, while Greece is currently observing a nationwide lockdown since November 7th.
